Day 18 of Integrity Training

a) Review Module 8

b) Study the following five components of integrity using (Holman Christian Standard Bible edition) Biblical references:

INCORRUPTIBILITY

Numbers 22:18 – Balaam replied to the servants of Balak, “Though Balak were to give me his house full of silver and gold, I could not do anything, either small or great, contrary to the command of the Lord my God

2 Peter 2:15-16 – forsaking the right way, they have gone astray, having followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; but he received a rebuke for his own transgression, for a mute donkey, speaking with a voice of a man, restrained the madness of the prophet.

1 Kings 22:13-14 – Then the messenger who went to summon Micaiah spoke to him saying, “Behold now, the words of the prophets are uniformly favorable to the king. Please let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak favorably.” But Micaiah said, “As the LORD lives, what the LORD says to me, that I shall speak.”

Acts 8:18-23 – Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was bestowed through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money, saying, “Give this authority to me as well, so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.” But Peter said to him, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money!

TRUTHFULNESS

Proverbs 29:14 – A king who judges with truthfulness [to] the poor, his throne will be established forever.

Isaiah 59:4 – none calleth for justice, none pleadeth in truthfulness. They trust in vanity, and speak falsehood; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.

3 John 1:3 – I was overjoyed when some brothers arrived and testified about your truthfulness and how you live according to the truth.

Psalm 40:10 — I have not ignored your righteousness in my heart; instead, I have proclaimed your faithfulness and deliverance. I have not concealed your gracious love and truthfulness from the great congregation.

HONESTY

Isa 59:4 – There is nobody {who pleads with} justice, and there is nobody who judges with honesty. They rely on nothing and speak vanity. They conceive trouble and beget iniquity;

Jer 5:1 – “Roam about through the streets of Jerusalem, and look please, and take note, and search at its public squares, if you can find a person [who] does justice, [who] seeks honesty, so that I may forgive it.

1 Tim 2:2 – For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

Heb 13:18  Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Psa 10:4 – In all his scheming, the wicked arrogantly thinks: “There is no accountability, since God does not exist.”

James 3:1 – Not many [of you] should become teachers [serving in an official teaching capacity], my brothers and sisters, for you know that we [who are teachers] will be judged by a higher standard [because we have assumed greater accountability and more condemnation if we teach incorrectly].

KEEPING PROMISES

Psa 24:4 – The one whose deeds are blameless and whose motives are pure, who does not lie, or make promises with no intention of keeping them.

c) Carry out spiritual exercises on each of these components for one hour using the following paragraphs as lead confessions:

I shall not participate in the pleasure of sin which lasts only for a season. I refuse to be corrupted with the materials and the manner of life of this world and I would not do anything, either small or great, contrary to the will of the Lord my God  (Numbers 22:18)

I shall live in truthfulness all the days of my life. I girt myself with the belt of truth and at all times and in every place I shall communicate in truth and righteousness. Since my Lord is the Way, the Truth and the Life, I shall continually imitate Him. I have nothing to do with Satan, the Father of lies.

As I have received mercy, I faint not in proclaiming the will of the One who has shown me mercy; I renounce the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth, I commend myself to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. (2 Corinthians 4:1,2).

I declare that I am accountable to God in all things and as a Kingdom Priest, I know that I assume greater accountability and more condemnation if I teach incorrectly or handle the Word of God deceitfully.

I stand as one whose deeds are blameless, whose motives are pure and who does not lie, or make promises with no intention of keeping them. (Psalm 24:4). I hold fast the profession of my faith and I choose to walk before God and be blameless (Genesis 17:1).
