a) Review Module 8
b) Study the remaining five components of integrity using (Holman Christian Standard Bible edition) Biblical references:
JUSTICE
Deuteronomy 16:19 – Do not deny justice or show partiality to anyone. Do not accept a bribe, for it blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous.
1 Kings 3:11 – So God said to him, “Because you have requested this and did not ask for long life or riches for yourself, or the death of your enemies, but you asked discernment for yourself to understand justice,
Psalm 45:7 – You love justice and hate wickedness. That is why God, even your God, has anointed you rather than your companions with the oil of gladness.
NON-PARTISAN
1 Corinthians 1:12- What I mean is that each of you is a partisan. One man says “I belong to Paul;” another “I belong to Apollos;” a third “I belong to Peter;” a fourth “I belong to Christ.”
Galatians 5:15 – But if you bite and devour one another [in bickering and strife], watch out that you [along with your entire fellowship] are not consumed by one another.
ROLE MODEL
John 13:13-16 – You call Me Teacher and Lord; and you are right, for so I am. If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I gave you an example that you also should do as I did to you.
Ephesians 5:1-2 – Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.
Acts 20:35 – In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’
GODLY CHARACTER
Genesis 6:9 – This is the account of Noah. Noah was a godly man; he was blameless among his contemporaries. He walked with God.
Psalm 149:9 – carrying out the judgment decreed against them. This honor is for all His godly people. Hallelujah!
SELFLESS INTENT
Philippians 2:3 – Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves;
2 Timothy 2:10 – For this reason I endure all things for the sake of those who are chosen, so that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus and with it eternal glory.
c) Carry out spiritual exercises on each of these components for one hour using the following paragraphs as lead in your confession as you speak and believe:
At all instances, I shall not deny justice nor show partiality to anyone. Neither will I give nor accept a bribe, for it blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous. (Deuteronomy 16:19)
In all dealings, whether at leadership level or at other places of authority and in all my interactions, I refuse to be partisan (1 Corinthians 1:12) I will not sow the seed of discord nor employ nepotism in all affairs of life.
As a role model, I shall work hard (Acts 20:35) and be an example to believers as much as I imitate God.
In my generation, I choose to be like Noah who was a godly man; blameless among his contemporaries and walked with God. (Genesis 6:9)
I shall do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility I value others above myself, (Philippians 2:3 NIVUK)
d) BE INTENTIONAL ON CHANGE.
